Kraft Foods Gevalia

Gevalia is a brand with a long tradition, introduced in 1920 by Sven Victor Engwall. The Engwalls were pioneers, and first with many innovations. The importance of investing in both product innovations as well as marketing/communication was recognised from the beginning and already in 1966 Gevalia became the leading coffee brand in Sweden. As time goes Gevalia expand its “local market” to first cover all of Sweden. In 1972 Gevalia was launched in Denmark and in 1994 in Finland. Today Gevalia is the leading Nordic coffee brand. The Engwall family owned the company until 1971, at which time General Foods (today Kraft Foods) bought the company.
