With its headquarters in Trieste, illycaffè S.p.A., leader in quality, produces and markets a unique blend of espresso coffee, made of 100% Arabica coffee, with a single brand, and packs dedicated to the three places and moments of coffee consumption: bar, and also hotels and restaurants homes, via stores and supermarkets offices, via agents and distributors.

Illy buys green coffee directly from the growers of the highest quality Arabica through partnerships based on the mutual creation of value. The Trieste-based company fosters long-term collaborations with the world’s best coffee growers - in Brazil, Central America, India and Africa - providing know-how and technology and offering above-market prices.

Founded in 1933 by Francesco Illy, today, with the third Illy generation that drives the company, the illycaffè S.p.A. group controls ten companies worldwide, dedicated to its distribution on international markets. It employs over 600 people, 400 of whom work in Trieste.

illy coffee is drunk in 50,000 bars and in the homes of over 130 countries worldwide. illycaffè has tripled its turnover over the last ten years. In 2005 its turnover was 227 million euros (+8% with respect to the previous year) and, for the first time, overseas sales exceeded sales in Italy. There are over 120 Espressamente illy’s - Italian style illy cafès - worldwide; 50 of these are in Italy.

illycaffè is Founder Member of the E.S.E. Consortium and it is represented within the E.S.E. Board of Directors by Mr. Stefano Cuccoli, who covers the charge of President of the Consortium.
