Furio Suggi Liverani was reconfirmed as President of the Consortium E.S.E. for the 2016-2018 three year term, by unanimous vote of the Board of Directors.
Furio Suggi Liverani was elected to succeed Roberto Morelli at the end of 2013. At that exact time, leading European Certification Entities, DinCertco, European Bioplastic Organization, Vincotte/OWS and Certiquality/Innovhub, determined that the direction and activities undertaken by the Consortium up to that point to certify E.S.E. pod compostability in Italy did not comply with European regulations and standard UNI EN13432:2002.
Furio Suggi Liverani had to re-address the entire issue, and try to work with what he inherited to put the E.S.E. product compostability certification project on the right track.
Furio Suggi Liverani is the Director of Research and Innovation for illycaffè, as well as a member of the company Strategic Committee of the company, as well as the Chairman of Trieste Coffee Cluster (regional agency for the development of the coffee industrial district) and past President of Biosensor Technologies (biotechnology company of the Science Park area); he is also active in several important associations in the scientific and commercial world of Coffee and systems.
